Church Video License (Denmark) Terms and Conditions

  1. Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) grants the licensee a non-exclusive license to publicly exhibit copyrighted films and other programs at the licensee’s premises. The films, TV series, etc., must be lawfully purchased or rented for personal, private home use—such as via DVDs, downloads, or internet streaming—subject to the terms and conditions set forth herein. Any exhibition occurring outside the scope of personal home use is considered a public exhibition.

  2. The CVLI Denmark agency, operating under CVLI UK, confirms that it has secured the necessary rights—in accordance with applicable legislation and the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (Part I, Chapter II, Sections 16 & 19)—to issue this license.

  3. The agreement term begins as specified in the license application and continues in one-year increments, unless terminated by either party at the end of a term. Such termination requires 60 days' notice. Each one-year term is considered a "contract year." If the licensee fails to terminate the agreement with CVLI by providing the required notice, the agreement shall remain in effect for the entire contract year, and the licensee shall be obligated to pay the license fee to CVLI. CVLI will not provide refunds or credits to the licensee should the licensee terminate the agreement prior to the expiration date of the term.

  4. Public exhibitions authorized by this license must take place within the building(s) specified in the license application. The purpose of the public screenings is to show films to members, students, staff, and guests; the audience must be limited to these groups. Specific titles may not be advertised publicly, and no participation fees may be charged, nor may tickets be sold.

  5. The agreed license fee for the first contract year is determined by CVLI and is payable to CVLI. The license fee is based on information provided by the licensee to CVLI. Subsequent contract years may involve adjustments based on various factors, such as changes in the consumer price index or changes in the number of participants/members covered by this license. Each year, or upon request by CVLI, the licensee must provide CVLI with the information required to determine the license fee for the following years. The license fee for each subsequent contract year is due for payment no later than the start of the contract period. Late payments may be subject to a charge of 1.5% of the fee for each month (or part thereof) that the payment is overdue.

  6. The specific titles that the licensee is permitted to show publicly under this license agreement are limited to films produced and/or distributed by one of the affiliated film producers. CVLI states that the affiliated film producers may not hold rights to certain individual titles, or that rights may have been withdrawn due to expiration during the licensee’s contract period. In such cases, CVLI will issue a binding notice stating that the specific titles may no longer be used for public screenings under this license. Such a notice shall be binding and must be implemented by the Licensee upon receipt. It is the Licensee’s responsibility to remain up to date with CVLI’s current list of producers and distributors. This list is available upon request and can be viewed or downloaded from the website cvli.com.

  7. The Licensee may publicly exhibit titles covered by this license agreement, provided that the film has been lawfully produced on video, DVD, or via a streaming service and has been acquired by the Licensee from a legitimate source. The responsibility for acquiring DVD films lies with the Licensee, and all costs associated with obtaining these DVDs are borne solely by the Licensee. This responsibility is separate from the agreement regarding the fee for the public exhibition of the film.

  8. The Licensee may not copy, edit, or otherwise alter films intended for public exhibition under this license.

  9. Any separate fees payable to music publishers or music publishing organizations for the right to publicly perform music contained within a feature film covered by this license agreement shall be borne solely by the Licensee and are of no concern to CVLI Denmark.

  10. This license may not be transferred by the Licensee without the written consent of CVLI; however, the Licensee shall have the right to transfer this agreement in connection with a merger or the sale of its assets and business, provided that the Licensee guarantees the payment of any outstanding license fees. This license may be transferred by CVLI.

  11. Any information provided regarding this agreement must be communicated directly and in writing. The Licensee’s address is stated in the license application. CVLI’s address is: Hummeltoftevej 49, 2830 Virum. The date of personal contact or the date of a letter regarding the aforementioned information shall constitute the effective date.

  12. In the event of a breach of this license agreement by the Licensee, CVLI Danmark reserves the right to terminate this license agreement upon thirty (30) days’ written notice. In the event of such termination, the Licensee shall not be entitled to a refund of the license fee. If CVLI or the Licensee refrains from exercising its rights in the event of a breach by the other party.
